Welcome to the Harmany Equine Clinic Website

Hello
Welcome to my web site!

This site is founded on the principles I use in my practice every day: education and quality treatment. This site contains articles, both long and short to increase your knowledge of alternative equine care. It also contains a web-based store, with products I use in my clinic every day, from companies with the highest standards. There are links to other sources of information and products that also pass the quality test.

My practice is primarily equine, though I work with some cattle. I practice complementary and alternative veterinary medicine (CAVM), using acupuncture, chiropractic, homeopathy, Chinese and western herbs, lots of nutritional medicine.

Saddle fitting is a particular special interest, and I have written two books and two DVDs on the topic available here. If it is necessary, I will send an animal for conventional diagnostic workups, or to western medicine, if that is in the animals best interest.

My books and DVDfs are the result of many years of collecting data.

My philosophy in a nutshell: The best medicine is whatever works on that day and is the least invasive. Example: for a twisted gut, the least invasive, successful treatment is surgery, however, for most of our chronic problems the least invasive and most successful treatment is CAVM.

I am certified in acupuncture and chiropractic, and have completed advanced training in veterinary homeopathy and herbal medicine. If you are looking for a local practitioner through the links provided, find one who has extensive training in the modality you are interested in.

Saddle Fit DVDs
The focus of this site is to provide high quality educational materials. The key is to help the horse owner, as well as the veterinary community become more educated in complementary and alternative medical therapies (CAVM). I hope you will learn when and how is best to use them, when to use CAVM yourself, and how to locate veterinarians and others to help you in your path of discovery.
